Ein großes Phänomen unserer Zeit ist die schon etliche Jahre gängige Praxis der "Sekundärliteratur": es wird viel über ein Gebiet geschrieben und geforscht, wobei ganze Bibliotheken sich zu füllen begonnen haben. Mir ist in den vergangenen Jahren mehrfach ein grundsätzlicher Mangel dazu aufgefallen, nämlich die oft versäumte Lieferung des Originaltextes. Hier zwei Beispiele: Als Martin Walser in der Paulskirche zu Frankfurt am 11. Oktober 1998 seine berühmte Rede hielt, brach ein Sturm der Entrüstung los. Ich hatte die Rede an diesem Tage bei drei Sendern dreimal gehört, weil ich verstehen wollte. In den Tagen danach echauffierten sich Intellektuelle aller führenden Blätter, vergaßen allerdings, den Text abzudrucken. Ich fand ihn über Tage hinweg überhaupt nicht, um selber zu sehen! Ähnlich ging es zu im Jahre 2012 mit dem Gedicht "Was gesagt werden muss" von Günter Grass. Alle möglichen Blätter schrieben darüber, aber ich brauchte wieder Tage dazu, doch einfach den ganzen Text zum Selbstlesen irgendwo zu finden, weil die Kritiker wiederum vergessen hatten, ihn ganz zu publizieren! So verselbstständigen sich Sekundärquellen! Ich finde es in der Tat respektlos und unehrlich, einen Text, über den man forscht und schreibt, nicht zunächst für alle lesbar zugänglich zu machen! Aber genau das gedenke ich mit diesem Buch zu tun: der Leser wird alle Gleichnisse der vier Evangelien hier finden, neu übersetzt und geordnet, damit er sich ihnen selbst auszusetzen vermag. Der Griechischlernende wird wieder große Hilfe finden. Dieses Buch ist also kein neues Buch "über" Gleichnisse, als ob es noch mehr bedürfte, sondern eine Einladung zum Lesen und Vertiefen in die Texte selbst, und der Stoff ist wahrlich nicht gering! Jesus sagte im Johannesevangelium, Kap. 10: 14 Ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ ποιμὴν ὁ καλὸς καὶ γινώσκω τὰ ἐμὰ καὶ γινώσκουσίν με τὰ ἐμά. Ich bin der gute Hirte und kenne die Meinen, und die Meinen kennen mich. Marcus Jastrow (June 5, 1829, Rogoźno – October 13, 1903) was a renowned Talmudic scholar, most famously known for his authorship of the popular and comprehensive A Dictionary of the Targumim, Talmud Babli, Talmud Yerushalmi and Midrashic Literature. He was also a progressive, early reformist rabbi in America. Jastrow was born in Rogasen in the Grand Duchy of Posen. After receiving rabbinical ordination, Ph.D., and Doctorate of Letters (D.Litt), he became the rabbi of the then Orthodox Congregation Rodeph Shalom in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1866, at the age of thirty-seven. In 1886, he began publishing his magnum opus, A Dictionary of the Targumim, Talmud Babli, Talmud Yerushalmi and Midrashic Literature, in pamphlet form. It was finally completed and published in two-volume form in 1903, and has since become a popular resource for students of Talmud. In the preface to this work, Jastrow sharply criticized those linguistic and etymological scholars who claimed that obscure terms in Talmudic literature are primarily derived from Greek. Jastrow held that Greek influence on Talmudic Aramaic was minimal, and that most obscure terms could be much more simply be traced to Hebrew origins.
