The history of philosophy and of social science is comprised in such systems and generalisations. They are the index to the annals of mankind. None of these systems is complete, none comprehends all human motives and capacities, none exhausts all the forces and currents of human society. They all express only fragmentary truths, which, however, become effective and achieve success because they are shining lights amidst the intellectual confusion of the generation which gives them birth, bringing it to a consciousness [x]of the questions of the time, rendering its further development less difficult, and enabling its strongest spirits to stand erect, with fixity of purpose, in critical periods. Hegel expresses himself in a similar sense where he remarks: "When the refutation of a philosophy is spoken of, this is usually meant in an abstract negative (completely destructive) sense, so that the confuted philosophy has no longer any validity whatever, and is set aside and done with. If this be so, the study of the history of philosophy must be regarded as a thoroughly depressing business, seeing that this study teaches that every system of philosophy which has arisen in the course of time has found its refutation. But if it is as good as granted that every philosophy has been refuted, yet at the same time it must be also asserted that no philosophy has been refuted, nor ever can be refuted ... for every philosophical system is to be considered as the presentation of a particular moment or a particular stage in the evolutionary process of the idea. Über den Marxismus-Lenismus ist inzwischen eigentlich alles, und das mehrfach, gesagt worden. Die Geschichte des Marxismus-Leninismus läßt sich deshalb problemlos in einem Satz zusammenfassen: Marx entdeckt die historische Notwendigkeit der Diktatur des Proletariats, Lenin hält sich 1917 an diese historische Notwendigkeit der Diktatur des Proletariats und Gorbatschow glaubt, daß Kapitalismus doch besser ist. Nähert man sich Marx jedoch nicht vom Marxismus/Leninismus aus, sondern von der Wirtschaftsgeschichte des 19. Jhds. dann wird einem plötzlich klar, daß der Marxismus so einfach nicht zu erklären ist. Man stellt nämlich z. B. schnell fest, daß die wirtschaftliche Macht zur Mitte des 19. Jhds. in Deutschland gar nicht beim Bürgertum, sondern beim Adel lag. Der Marxismus unterstellt jedoch, daß das Bürgertum den Adel schon wirtschaftlich und politisch ausgeschaltet hat. Warum hat sich Marx überhaupt nicht mit der ökonomischen Rolle des Adels beschäftigt? Während ich über diese Frage nachdachte, sah ich auf NBC eine Dokumentation über Martin Luther King. Ich war beeindruckt von seiner Rhetorik und stellte fest, daß seine Argumentation darin bestand, mit den Ideen des Christentums freundlich an den amerikanischen Traum zu erinnern. King wurde zwar erschossen, aber seine Bürgerechtsbewegung war insgesamt erfolgreich. Erfolgreicher jedenfalls als die marxistische Bewegung in England und Amerika. Während sich der Gedanke noch in meinen Kopf schlich, daß Marx in London vielleicht auch lieber mit dem Christentum hätte argumentieren sollen, fiel mir ein, daß ja die ganzen Frühsozialisten genau das getan hatten. Ich erinnerte mich an Wilhelm Weitling und seinen ‚Bund der Gerechten‘, der ja wie die meisten französischen und deutschen Frühsozialisten ganz auf dem Boden des Christentums stand. Bis Marx kam und diese Handwerker-Vereinigung in den ‚Bund der Kommunisten‘ umbenannte und das Kommunistische Manifest schrieb, das uns heute vor allem durch seine unsentimentale, mutige Aggressivität beeindruckt. Wäre nicht etwas mehr Freundlichkeit und Bescheidenheit besser angekommen? Und warum vor allem diese Unfreundlichkeit gegenüber dem Bürgertum, das doch so wacker gegen die Vorrechte des Adels stritt? Von da ab war der Gedanke, Marx müsse eine Auftrags-Provokateur gewesen sein, nicht mehr aufzuhalten. Von Lenin ist ja bekannt, daß er vom preußischen Geheimdienst finanziert worden ist, um mit seinen sozialistischen Ideen die Wehrkraft der Russen zu zersetzen. Ist es da so unwahrscheinlich, daß der preußische Geheimdienst auch früher schon Sozialisten im Ausland gefördert hat, um andere Länder zu destabilisieren? [mehr]
