Is there a length requirement in order to put my book up for sale?

Very short books have a tendency to be rejected from external shops because they feel that there is not enough content to justify a cost for the book.

Longer books of more than 10 BookRix pages or a minimum of 2500 words, will be less likely to be rejected because of length. However, your book's blurb is required to be a minimum of 140 (max 3000) characters. This blurb is important to catch the potential readers attention to want to read/buy your book. The longer the better.

My book consists of two short stories, around 1500 words each. You can try putting all your flash fiction in one book.

FAQ's states this:

How long will it take for my book to appear on the other eBooks markets?

Normally after your book is fully uploaded for sale via BookRix and there are no issues with your book, it will take about 72 hours for your book to appear in the eBook stores. Some stores could take up to 7-21 days to show up online. This is because it goes through a review process on BookRix and a separate review process for the external shops.

But I saw your 'book' and I think, since it's long, it might take a little more for them to read it and see that everything is in order.

The average for full novel sized books I've published has been around 10 days. It's SO difficult to wait!!

Well the book is actually a box set that contains a total of four books so I can see that. I just figured that I'd get some type of notification. Thanks for answering!

Hi Lisa, To publish just means to make it public so you can make it public for free for all BookRix users or public for free for only your BookRix friends. If you want to publish it for sale in the shops (no longer an option to sell only on BookRix) then you have to set a price and then publish it. It will then get sent for distribution after approval. If you have the book for sale, it will be available to all to see (at least the reading sample).

I have never published a book through bookrix, but based on what I have heard I believe the only way to change the price is to remove it and to then post it again at a later date. It will have to go through the process of being published all over again. As far as I know there is no way to immediately raise or lower the price.

luckyscar is right. It takes three weeks to remove it from the market and then you can republish it at the new price. I'm just doing that with the first in my mystery series.

Hi John, it's true that you have to stop the sale of your book, wait the 4 week period to make any changes to your book (including editing the price) and then put the book back up for sale....It would be the same book with the same ISBN (with the new changes of course)...We are still working on offering .99. We had an issue with Amazon not accepting our .99 price and this resulted in no price option on the books on their site so we had to up the min price to 1.49 to "fix the problem". We are chatting with our distributor to see how to fix this so that we can offer .99 again. Stay tuned:-)
