I did like to capture all those delicious tastes and smells. One of my Creative writing tutors once read a book to us about old Lon don (19220s/30s) and she read and explained to us that you should put in smells, tastes, colours all sorts of sensations that we feek in our everyday lkives as well as plot and story. i never forgot, Evelyn /Bluedragon

thank yu so much for your comments, I really appreciate your a) taking the timne to read my work and b) being so complimentary about it. I wrote it some time ago as you can see at the bottom. I had not thought of expanding it but it is possible. I am so busy right now but they were onkly ever meant as short stories at the time. Like Val, I would have liked the real dragons to enter the story a little more, but then, that's the art of a good story; to leave us wanting more.

Yes, as Val pointed out. You captured the intense rivalry and distrust that permeates some of these events so much.
My mouth was watering at the foods and smells, you really took us to the fairs.

Thank for reading my story and for your lovely comments. I did try to 'image' for my reader as b est I could., The dragons were dying out but their Legacy was that we remmebr them/)think about them - a sin old folk lore). The end was that the floral arranger kewpt that legacy by having a china dragon in her pocket. Just a whimsical idea I had. I wrote it some while back so cannot remember the readson I did it this way. Perhaps I felt that the dragons were a dying breed just like the fetes will probably die out at some point. Maybe that is the answer. But once again, it is so nice to have a loyal reader. That is all I ask for, people to read whagt I write and hopefully enjou my work. Evelyn/.Bluedragon

Oh this is lovely. You captured perfectly the sights, sounds and smells of an English country market fete. I was entranced by your descriptive passages, feeling part of it all. I especially enjoyed the repartee between the two old men,and could almost hear their broad dialects.

You are such a talented writer, Evelyn, and I really enjoyed this story. I am not certain if you had a word limit for it and if not, why it ended so abruptly. I was hoping to read more about what happened..and was a little unsure about the dragons you wrote about in the beginning and how they related to the end of your story. Did I miss something? Maybe it's me. Still, a very nice read as usual. Well done.
