As promised here is the (very free) translation of my profile. :)

First of all this is a community (shared) profile, I'm the main user but the rest of my 'family' is using it too. We are a residential and work community and we are looking at us as a family.

We that's:
- Eva, Mara, Vivien, Indra, Lavanya, Katja, Betty, Charly, Meike, Olivia, Mieke, Mienett, Ruud, Claas, Peer and me Paul. We are living in Canada on Vancouver Island together with our fifteen students.

- Mom, Tess, Fenja, Klaus, Jesper and Roger are located in Hamburg Germany.

- Lou, Miho, Ella and Lou's girls enjoy their life's in Amsterdam the Netherlands.

- Jorge, Raquel, Nuria, Miguel, Joaquin, Anna, Juan, Elena, Paula, Jan and little Nils belong to the Spanish part of the family.

- Carla, Emmy, Jana, Hanna, Rojin and Ben are living in Boston (besides Hamburg my second home town!) and somewhere between Lincoln and Concord New England.

- In Shenyang / China (home number three) it's ChunLing, Bella (ShuTong), Tian Tian, Fan Fan, YoYo, Vivian 1+2+3, Aimi, Sunny, Amber, LingLing, Yuki, Eric, Viona, NingBo, Witold, Andy, Ank (Charlie), Maria, Lance, Brother Lee and many more.

- Last but not least Ravi, Sashin and Katharina are representing us in India.

We have lots of friends all over the world, even though they are close friends they are not part of the family, cause family means something special to us. This statement directly leads to our other family members, our pets.

Those members are:
- Joey a giant male Irish Wolfhound (Betty's savior, see the book 'Joey'),

- Kitty a Giant Schnauzer lady (the undoubted number #1 of our pride),

- Lotti (the wild one) a young Waeller girl (black, stubborn, fearless, teeth like a Crocodile and fast like a cannonball),

- Maxi and Toni two Irish Setter girls (they are cousins and love to hunt and to swim). Because of Maxi's and Toni's favorite activities they took over the bodyguard job for Peers more than 200 Kois.

- Last but definitely not least(!!!) JB (=Jan Bear) who joint our pride by his very own decision. JB moved in at our place shortly after we've migrated from Amsterdam to Vancouver Island. He is a disabled (but never the less untamed) Grizzly bear, and he became a completely integrated part of the Family, he moves free within our home.

And that's what I'm writing about! My/our story's are about our life's, they are telling about opportunities, challenges, losses, trust, deep true friendship, fun, party, loyalty, crime, love and erotic. They pleading for tolerance, alternative life models, ethically thinking and acting, honesty, to question yourself and your intensions constantly and to stand up for your friends. My people are delivering more stuff to write about than I'm able to process in my whole lifetime.

As soon as I'm able to find a person who's capable to translate my books professionally I'll get them translated. I'm sad that I wasn't able to find one till now. For myself I wouldn't dare to do it, cause I'm not a native speaker, besides the type of German language I used within those books is a little more sophisticated then in normal mainstream story's. So ideal would be a person who's an English native speaker with a deep knowledge of Germany (language and country) from the 1980th, 90th and 2000th.

Dear friends,

during the last days lots of people asked my about JB and our dogs. So I tried to look up some articles and videos to underline our experiences. Thank to hint I've found some more videos from Doug about Bart, little Bart and Honey Bump, telling the story of Bart's life (attention it's very sad, I admit I cried like Doug when I saw it the first time!).

Besides Casey and Marc, Doug is one of the best, most experienced and successful animal (bear) trainers. He and his wife Lynne dedicated their life's to preserve this adorable creatures.

Well what I actually want to express is that lots of so called experts always say 'you should not humanize animals!'. Okay - with most animals living in the wilderness that is partially right, but ...

... every higher being is capable to feel fear, anger, happiness, love and so on, even more complex feelings and concepts like care, responsibility and a sense of justice are normal for them. This impression is not only covered by our own observations and experience with JB, Joey and Lotti. But judge for yourself by listening to a real expert who lived together with bears for his whole lifetime.

Remember the picture from Casey and Brutus sharing a thanksgiving meal, well Brutus has better table manners than some humans I know! As far as I know Casey didn't trained that, Brutus copied this from 'his' humans, from his family.

Liebe Freunde,

in den letzten Tagen wurde ich häufiger über JB und die Hunde ausgefragt. Ich habe daraufhin nach Artikeln und Filmen gesucht, die unsere Erfahrungen mit den Tieren bestätigen. Auf eine Tipp hin, fand ich dann zwei Videos von Doug über Bart, Little Bart und Honey Bump (Achtung die Videos sind sehr traurig, ich gebe zu ich musste genauso weinen wie Doug!).

Neben Casey und Marc ist Doug einer der besten, erfahrensten und erfolgreichsten Tiertrainer. Doug und seine Frau widmen ihr gesamtes Leben der Erhaltung dieser Tiere und ihres Lebensraumes.

Worauf ich eigentlich hinaus möchte, ist, dass viele der sogenannten Experten immer wieder sagen, dass man die Tiere nicht vermenschlichen soll. Das mag für Wildtiere wohl zumindest teilweise zutreffen, aber ...

... jedes höhere Tier ist in der Lage Angst, Ärger, Freude, Liebe und so weiter zu empfinden. Ja so gar zu weit komplexeren Empfindungen(Konzepten) wie Verantwortung, Fürsorge und Gerechtigkeitsempfinden sind sie fähig. Diese Eindrücke basieren nicht nur auf unseren Beobachtungen und Erfahrungen mit JB, Joey und Lotti. Aber urteilt selbst wenn ihr euch die Videos anseht.

Erinnert ihr euch noch an das Bild von Brutus und Casey am Erntedankfest? Ich finde Brutus hat bessere Tischmanieren, als eine ganze Reihe von Menschen die ich kenne. Soweit ich weiß, hat Casey das nicht mit ihm geübt, Brutus hat sich das bei 'seinen' Menschen, seiner Familie abgekuckt.
