For me I'm a character writer. When I start a book I always begin in the protagonist's head. Whether it's his or her thoughts on love or life or anything for the most part, it always starts in that format.

My characters are parts of me that I feel I can only reveal in writing or parts of me that I wish I was..etc. I always connect on some level with my characters though. I know what there favorite colors are..what music he or she listens to...and so on.

Other people tend to be setting writers and starting a book they always begin describing a place or fantasy world. What type of writer are you?? :-o

There's a character in my series of books, "A Day in the Life of Tuffy and Mr. Babbles. Her name is "Pem", Pem is a beautiful doe with long gorgeous hair, shiny soft fur and very popular in school. Sadly enough, she doesn't see her worth due to low self-esteem issues. She hides behind her social self, afraid to show the world who she really is. Pem is ME, or shall I say was me in my much younger years. Over time I've learned to appreciate who I am, the good, the bad and the ugly parts of me. I started journaling when I was 26 and that was the beginning of my voyage to self love. When I was able to pull all of the thoughts out of my head and see them on paper, I learned that everything that I thought I was could be changed. Sure it has taken years to fully realize this but what a Blessing it has been to finally see that I am not my thoughts and surely I am not what other people THINK. Changing my thoughts of ME has changed my life.
