When you first join, add the books you want reviewed to the Booklist. There will be one thread for book discussions and one to post your review or critique. Since, currently, we have 25 members, there should be 24 reviews of each book (minus the author). The amount of reviews is subject to change as we take on new members- this post will be updated to reflect that.

The review/critique has to be more than "I liked it", "It was... mehr anzeigen

"A comedy sketch from a short story I wrote." -Carol Wills

I always giggle when I read such works as these from Carol. She finds ways to promote a witty banter between characters in a very classic manner. Although the dialogue is a bit more pointed toward an English way of speaking, as Carol resides in the UK, the women's point of view... mehr anzeigen

Review - Entertaining and witty. I could just see this conversation taking place. I liked the realism of the comments. But most of all I liked the logical progression of the dialogue.

My only suggestion: I would have liked to see a little more input from the pregnant character... mehr anzeigen

Everyone is welcome as long as you are active. The premise behind this group is to provide useable feedback in reviews and critiques to our fellow authors. So many reviews are less than impressive, so be sure to be as thorough and thought provoking as possible.

Now, things will change slightly. We will treat this group as something of a book club. There will be ONE thread dedicated to the book up for review. Each person will... mehr anzeigen

tinkerbell143 is only 15 years old but she has grasped the art of story telling, perhaps not the perfection of the grammar, but she you don't expect her to at her age.
The story is not finished yet he held me intrigued with her main character's story

Things are still iffy, but I've neglected BR for a while (partially on purpose). There was just too much going on here that was distracting. But anyway, hopefully we can get back on track with a little help from my friends! :)

I have just read Ripple's poem. It's title is "Breakfast". My first reaction was that this poem was about a love that had died out. The beginning describes how two people are in bed, they know that the other is awake yet they do not want to disturb the person they are with. It ends with a description of the couple eventually making love (it wasn't an elaborate description, so don't worry). I found the analogy of a breakfast... mehr anzeigen

In reading this poem I felt a strong connection between these two lovers, who were struggling to repair an argument. The hesitation, the imagery was done very well. I could see this scene clearly.

Only two little things marred it. I think the cobblestone background is great, only... mehr anzeigen

Underwolf has stepped out of the fiction department and into real life. She has tackled a subject that needs address if you have, know, or love a teenager.

Here is my review: Sound advice
from someone that has been down that road?

We all seem to relate those stories close to our heart...it seems you found the ears to hear, the eyes to see, and the arms to hold...p;]

This is a clever concept and beautifully written work of prose. The descriptive narrative flows well and draws in the reader, without being intrusive.

The characters are well defined but not overtly so for this short piece of flash. It's just enough to allow the reader to identify with each of them. Then the necessary punch line, the kicker of every good piece of flash, which has us, saying WOW! Kudos Beth!
