Post your books here.

This is one of my favourite books. I've read it three times because it's about time-travel, it's got lots of history and it's set in a village that I've visited in Somerset. I've just found out James Long has written the sequel. Yum yum.

A highly Recommended Real Read

This is where you can submit the first page of your BookRix book for critique.

We are focusing on improvements with grammar, spelling, punctuation etc, so if you think that's an area you'd like some help with, copy and paste the first page of your story and put the title in the subject line.

Don't worry about getting it wrong. We all got it wrong at some point. Still do! Remember, you have to start somewhere and we're all here... mehr anzeigen

When/if we create a new word when we pen our stories should we have the right to dictate the pronunciation? Or should we allow the majority of our readers to determine the way in which it should be said?

Steve Whilhite creator of the gif has found himself in a similar dilemma.

Gif inventor says pronounce it 'Jif' http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-22620473 The inventor of the Gif image format says it should be pronounced Jif, despite what the Oxford English Dictionary says.

FREE to enter.

The competition is open to anyone and everyone over the age of 18 and we’ll be accepting submissions until 30th June 2013.

Although we want stories that feature crime, we don’t want you to be tied to the traditional crime writing genre. While we’re more than happy to accept murder mysteries and police procedurals and any stories of that ilk, crime is just the theme for our first competition. You can write in any... mehr anzeigen

This thread is a sort of dating thread for writers to find a matching partner to help edit your book while you edit theirs.

Do you want to one day self publish, but need fresh eyes to view your book?

Would you love to have someone who involves their time looking for plot holes and grammar issues and at the same time, you return the favor by looking at their work?

Post your title here and tell us the genre the story is in and how... mehr anzeigen

tal.lingenua

Just pay attention to the things around you. The funniest things aren't the things you think of, but the things that just happen. Let it come naturally, try not to force it. Hope I helped.

Bones52

Yes you did, I don't have a ton of comedy, the most I really do is usually with sarcasm.
so thank you for your help ^-^

tal.lingenua

You're welcome. ^_^

foreverfemme

I agree with not forcing it. Try a random conversation between two or three of your characters and let the words flow. You might be surprised at how pithy/sarcastic quips translate into humorous moments. Good luck, Bones52!
