Can I sell books that I already have uploaded on BookRix?
Of course you can, but you can only sell books that have been created with the Normal or Advanced edit modes. This is for conversion purposes. If you used the file upload option, you will not be able to put it up for sale, but you can recreate your book using the Normal or Advanced edit modes. Selling a book, that was created from the "file upload" option, will come in time.

Do I get an ISBN for my book?
Yes, BookRix is the publisher so when you go through the process to sell your book on BookRix, an ISBN will automatically be generated for you.

If I already have a book on BookRix created from the "File Upload" option, how can I change it to the "Normal or Advanced edit mode" so I can sell it?
This is a toughy. If you have used the "file upload" option with your book, you have one of 2 options here.
1. You can delete your book and simply upload a new one using the "Normal/Advanced edit mode.
2. You can re-upload a new file to your existing book that will appear as just a reading sample. Then upload the same book using the "Normal or Advanced" edit modes so you have the ability to sell it. The advantage of this method is that you will not lose any of your comments and hearts that you book may have acquired but the disadvantage is that you will have 2 of the same book on your profile page. But, don't worry, being able to sell your book, if it was created via "File upload" option, will be doable on BookRix soon.

I already have a book for sale online but I want to add to it or change it. Is it still possible to make a change and resell it?
You can add to it or change it but you have to create a new version. Since you can't make changes to a book already for sale, you can certainly sell your new version of your book as it would be like a new edition. You will have to pay the selling fees again to sell your new version.

If I found a mistake with my book that I already put up for sale, can I still edit it?
This is an absolute no...Yes, we know it's harsh but if you create a book, it is up to you to make sure that it's edited correctly and 100% perfect before taking that one step to put it up for sale. Once it's officially up for sale an issued an ISBN, you cannot go back to make any changes.

Double check, triple check, get many eyes to check, before you make the decision to sell your book. Once your book is issued an ISBN and is up for sale you cannot alter it in any way. Even if you take your book off sale, it cannot be edited any longer because you will still have the ISBN linked to the book forever and always. You must make a new edition if you wanted to make a correction and resell the book. You will have to pay the selling fees again if you choose to do this.

Keep in mind that if you do spot a mistake with your book for sale, it will take about 4 weeks to remove the book from BookRix and up to a few months to remove the book from the eBook markets. You don't want to have a book with mistakes in it to linger on the Internet so make sure that you proof read your work before selling it.

Can I sell a cassette player that belongs to my brother?
If you have the permission of your brother to sell things that belong to him and if you can find a human being that still has and uses audio cassettes, then we answer, "YES" to your question. However, you can't sell your audio cassette player on BookRix.

Can I sell a single book from an anthology or part of a book?
You can sell anything you wish. A poem, a short story, pieces of an anthology, anything you want to sell. This is up to you.

Is there a length requirement in order to put my book up for sale?
Your book can be as long or as short as you wish. Your book can be a poem or a novel. This is completely up to you. However, your book's blurb is required to be a minimum of 140 characters. Every symbol, letter and space counts as a character. This blurb is important to catch the potential readers attention to want to read/buy your book.

If I have a book for sale can I use it for a BookRix contest?
No, this won't be possible because once your book is for sale, it is no longer offered to be read for free and therefore, it can only be read by the people who purchased your book.

What if I have a book that was created from multiple authors, like an anthology? Can we each get paid out separately from the royalties?
Not at this time. BookRix will consider this in the future, but for now, only one author can get paid out at one time.

Can I sell x-rated books?
At this time we ask that members do not sell x-rated material through BookRix. There is no minor protection if your book is listed as x-rated and for sale outside of BookRix. Anyone at any age would have the ability to buy and read it.

Bookrix will implement an age recommendation system in the future so stay tuned.

I just bought a new toaster but it keeps burning my bread. What can I do to prevent this from happening?
Sorry to hear about your burned toast, but what we can recommend is that you lower the setting on your toaster to make sure that it doesn't toast your bread too long. If this problem continues, you may want to exchange the toaster for another one since the one you have may be faulty.

What if I'm not comfortable with selling/buying a book, can I change my mind once I have started the process?
Nope, NEVER! Just kidding! Of course you can back out of the selling or buying process anytime before getting to the final payment step. Once you have made your payment, you cannot go back. There are no refunds.

How long will it take for my book to appear on the other eBooks markets?
Normally after your book is fully uploaded for sale through BookRix, it will take about 24 hours for your book to appear on the other eBook stores. Some stores could take up to 7-21 days to show up online.

I removed my book from sale but I still see it listed for sale on BookRix and on Amazon, etc.
When you remove your book from sale it will take some time to be removed from BookRix and the other eBook markets. Keep in mind that once you remove your book from sale, it will take up to 4 weeks to be removed from BookRix and a few months to be removed from the other eBook markets.

If I decide to remove my book from sale, can I put the same book back up for sale again?
Yes, but it does take about 4 weeks for your book to be removed from sale on BookRix and up to a few months for your book to be removed from sale from the outside markets.
Once the book is completely off the market, you can only then, put it back for sale, but you will have to pay the fee, once more, to sell it again.

How does my eBook get sent to me after purchasing it?
Once you finalize your purchase a link to your eBook will be emailed to you along with a copy of your invoice. Make sure that you don’t get too lazy with downloading the book to your computer because if the author decides to remove their book from sale, that you just purchased, you will only have only 4 weeks to download the book. After this time, the link that was emailed to you is no longer valid.

Where do I go to find books to purchase?
If you are interested in looking for books to buy, you can simply go to the "Books" tab and filter through "Books for sale".

I keep getting an error message when I try to finalize my payment. What am I doing wrong?
This could be a few things here. First of all, you should always make sure that you have your personal information with PayPal, Click and Buy, etc. up to date (i.e. your address, credit card info, bank info, etc.). If any of this information is not accurate, you will not be able to process your payment. Keep in mind that even if your credit card that is linked to your account is expired, this will affect your payment too.

If you experience any problems with the final payment step, please contact support help from your payment provider (PayPal, Click and Buy, etc.) before contacting BookRix.

I noticed that the price of my book is different on some of the outside markets from the price that I set through BookRix. Why is this?
The price difference could be the added VAT but some of the other markets have the ability to change the price of your book. Don't be alarmed. The set margin of your book, established through BookRix, will still be the same.

Can I see how much my book is making from specific markets?
No, you can only see, from your BookRix transactions, how much your book is making overall and not through the individual markets.
I know my book has been sold on the outside markets but my “Sales Statistics” are not reflecting that. Why is this? Only books that are sold on BookRix will appear in your “Sales Statistics” right away. If your book was sold on the outside markets then it will take about 6 weeks for those sales number (numbers of books sold and royalties made) to appear in your “Sales Statistics”. You will see a rough preliminary amount but the final amount will be updated every 6 weeks.

How do I get paid my royalties?
Once you have made at least $25 in sales from your books, BookRix will transfer your funds quarterly to your already set up account. To view your transactions, simply click on "Home, "Profile Settings" and then "Transactions". You can check out your "Sales Statistics" anytime. This will show you how much you have earned and when your next payout will be.

Where do I go to update my personal information regarding my address details for my author contract and account data for revenue distribution?
You can always update your personal information my going to “Home”, “Profile settings” and then “Personal settings”. Here you can either click on “Edit” to change your address details or your account data.

BookRix is not for me. How do I delete my account?
No hurt feelings here. We know that BookRix may not be for everyone, but if you really, really, really want to leave us, we’ll understand. You must first go into your “profile settings” and then “personal settings”. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the link to delete your account. This takes a little bit of time (5 min or so) for the system to fully delete you so don’t freak out when you test to see if it really deleted your account and your profile pops up. Chill for a bit and check it again.

If you are using our eBook distribution service, you will not be able to delete your account.
